Hello lovely DW-people!

This is my very first Journal-post in honor of my 18th birthday.
Now I'm finally able to use LJ to it's full extent - Hurray! Trust me, I've been waiting for that!

Well... introducing myself to the Internet...

I'm an 18 year old girl/woman/teen/alien/whatever, living alone with my mother in a flat/apartment in the city of Ã…rhus, situated in Denmark, Europe.
I think I can reveal my first name, Julie, but you will not squeeze the other four out of me (yes, I have five names of which I'm ridiculously proud of) - I wouldn't want to be ID'ed too easily on the Internet, in case my teachers (or people in general) decided to Google my name and figured out exactly what kind of stories I'm swallowing daily like the addicted fangirl I am reading.
So you probably figured by now that my birth language isn't English, though it is one of my major classes (along with German) in school. I have no spare time what so ever, because it's all being spent on reading VAST amounts of fanfiction and the occasional singing lesson or choir practice. Oh, I mustn't forget homework! Which I should be doing as I'm writing this *facepalm*
I love books and literature - I can get all excited and energized if I'm reading a brilliant book or an interesting short story in my danish-class. I have a special place in my heart for Fantasy and Harry Potter owns that place!

So, before the summer holiday of 2008 I knew fanfiction, read it from time to time at fanfiction.net and of cause I read Harry Potter fanfiction.
But get this - I read Ron/Hermione! *gasp* But one sunny day, not many weeks before school started again, I sat in front of my dearest laptop, browsing stories. And then a blessed thought came to me. I looked at the searching tool in the upper right corner of my screen on ff.net and pondered, "Hmm... I wonder, would there be such a thing as a Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy romantic fic?" ...Oh, the innocence *shakes head, amused* I got curious, tried searching it and was utterly gobsmacked. I hadn't in my wildest dreams imagined such a community and large number of people writing the ever-wonderful and every-other-positive-adjective H/D!

It's needless to say that from that moment on it was as good as the only kind of fanfiction I read. The incredible [livejournal.com profile] faithwood was one of the first I discovered and once I've started reading her stories I was lost - in the absolutely fantastic way! R/Hr just didn't satisfy my *cough* needs anymore. And when I figured out that some of my favorite authoresses didn't upload all their stories on ff.net, but did so on LJ, I gradually spent more and more time here than there. And it sped up when I realized how easy it was to find so many more fics with so much more quality.
The reveal-post of [livejournal.com profile] hd_inspired's Back to School fest quickly became my key to wonderful and talented people on LJ.
People like [livejournal.com profile] bryoneybrynn [livejournal.com profile] draykonis [livejournal.com profile] faithwood [livejournal.com profile] dysonrules [livejournal.com profile] lomonaaeren [livejournal.com profile] slashpervert [livejournal.com profile] enchanted_jae [livejournal.com profile] rickey_a [livejournal.com profile] emmagrant01 [livejournal.com profile] silentauror and MANYMANYMANYMANYMANYMANYMANYMANY more is why I love H/D! If you haven't read anything from these brilliant, sweet, talented and welcoming writers, you are seriously missing out on something! And all the communities and fests are SO awesome, it's unbelievable! If you, by the incredibly small chance, doesn't know some of these, here are some of the most used/known:
[livejournal.com profile] hd_inspired
[livejournal.com profile] hd_worldcup
[livejournal.com profile] hd_holidays
[livejournal.com profile] harrydraco
and if you Google for H/D and recs and must-reads and such, you'll be buried in wonderful and awesome and amazing stories in every flavor! ♥
And of cause I've been squeeing happily ever since I discovered that BOTH of my [livejournal.com profile] hd_smoochfest prompts have been claimed! ♥ Yay!!!!

You'll probably have figured out by now, but it can't be said too much - I Love H/D! But I really don't mind reading the occasional Albus Severus/Scorpius or next generation fic if the writing is good ^^
I'm a total sucker for "the 8th year" or generally post-war Hogwarts. But -damn- there are also some amazing AU or Epilogue compliant fics out there, but EWE will probably remain a favorite of mine.
I enjoy Auror fics a lot and generally read short-novel or novel length fics, but I can devour tons of one-shots and drabbles a day, too.
Some people have squicks like heavy bondage, SM, bloodplay and so on (all fair and understandable) - I generally like it all *smirks* except golden showers and stuff like that (no offense intended), so I've come to accept that I'm a pervert and I gladly read PWP's for the sake of the NC-17 (which I can access on LJ now - YAY!) xD
The largest squick I have is Tradegy! I don't mind heavy angst, as long as I know that there's at least a hopeful ending so I won't run from my laptop, crying. ^^

I'll like to give a special shout-out and giant hug and squeeze to one of my dearest friends I've meet through the love of H/D - [livejournal.com profile] clarex_ama is the most darling girl and I love her very very much! Her fics are fun and awesome and fabulous! ♥

And a HUGE thank you to the utterly awesome [livejournal.com profile] dysonrules for pretty, pretty boys that can be found here!! They are GUUH!
And a giant squeeze of love to the brilliant [livejournal.com profile] moonlitdark who wrote this limerick of WIN for me! Hurry, hurry, go read and praise the limerick of SQUEE!! And now she wrote me this too! Go read guuuh!!

Anyways, that was a tiny bit about me and such, and maybe I could be convinced to upload a little of my own H/D writing - but it's really not very good, so I'll just be sparing you all for now ^^

If you for some odd reason feel like dropping a comment you are very much very welcome! And in case anybody has actually read all of the above, I'm very amazed and humbled! *bows to you* Thank you for taking the time to read this!
